Michael Zuch

Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)

Michael Zuch | he / they

Change happens at the speed of trust. This belief represents the foundational pillar of my work with clients of all ages. My role as your therapist is to develop a trusting relationship where you can show up authentically, in all of life’s messiness, and explore tools to help you regulate your nervous system. While I won’t have all the answers or a magic cure, I am committed and honored to walk alongside you.

I describe my therapeutic approach as relational, trauma-informed (addressing how trauma and chronic stress impact our bodies and behaviors), and systemic (understanding how we are impacted by our relationships, cultures, and systems of oppression). Additionally, I believe in the power of joy and laughter in therapy. Therapy doesn’t have to be serious all the time to build our capacity for connection and growth!

Many of my adult and adolescent clients show up to therapy wanting relief from intrusive past experiences or because they feel stuck in their current challenges. These often include anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, PTSD, dissociation, and sexual abuse. Many are also navigating layers of cultural identity, sexual or gender identity, adverse religious experiences, and neurodiversity.

The children (3+) and families I work with often present with behavioral or mood issues due to trauma, attachment disruptions, adoption, sensory processing challenges, or the impacts of parental divorce. I use a family systems approach rooted in attachment theory and utilize aspects of play therapy, family therapy, trauma reprocessing, and sensory-informed interventions to help strengthen families. I require at least one caregiver to be actively involved in the therapeutic process. Note: I do not do custody evaluations.

Due to my own lived experience, I am especially equipped to work with individuals and families from the LGBTQ+ community and immigrants / third-culture-kids. If you are interested in working with me, please reach out over email or the phone to schedule a free 15 minute consultation call..
